3 MAIN AREAS TO GO SCUBA DIVING IN BALI:

When booking your Scuba Diving adventure in Bali, it is important to note that there are no popular dive sites close to the main tourist cities of Seminyak, Kuta or Sanur.  The 3 popular diving destinations are Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, Gilis Islands, and Liberty Wreck.

From Denpasar Bali, Liberty Wreck is approximately a 3-hour drive by bus located in Tulamben.

Nusa Lembongan is the most accessible diving destination from Bali. It is only a 45 minute speed boat ferry from Sanur.

The Gili Islands are world renowned and closer to the Island Lombok. It will take approximately 2.5 hours by boat to reach the Islands.

In the video above with from our dive sites that included drift diving on Santal & Buyuk on Penida Island.

When booking your scuba diving adventure in Bali it is important to know that there are hundreds of dive shops to choose from. Make sure look through Trip Advisor and find a reputable company with good equipment. The last thing you want is going out with an inexperienced diving company as Bali has a strong drift current for Divers.

We had searched many reviews and ended up choosing Ceningan Divers Bali. Their equipment was new, boat in great condition and we ended up being the only customers on board, so it was a private diving boat. Our dive master had 8 years experience with hundreds of dives and spoke very good English.  We were glad we chose them!

SNORKELING IN BALI ON NUSA LEMBONGAN AT MANTA RAY POINT

Now if Scuba Diving is not for you, then the snorkeling tour to Manta Point is something you must do. The day before we went Scuba Diving we did an amazing snorkeling with 20% off Snorkeling Trip for $70usd.  You can find more affordable options on the Island. We went to Crystal Bay, Manta Point and Mangrove Point.  The snorkeling experience was amazing, we could have stayed for hours being a observer of such an active underwater world.

The highlight of the snorkeling tour is snorkeling with the Manta Rays.  Manta Point on Nusa Lembongan Island is one of the Manta Ray’s cleaning and feeding spots so it’s common to find them in groups here during their migration. This adventure may not be for someone of the faint of heart or gets a little sea sick.  We thought the captain was joking when they pulled up to a point off the Island with the waves crashing into the cliff and said “get in there”.  But we did!  Surprisingly even with the large waves crashing into the cliff, the current didn’t pull us too much and we were able to swim with 6 huge Manta Rays.  It was so wavy, that 3 different people were throwing up before we even got back into the boat.  So if you are prone to sea sickness, take gravol or demeral with you.  Our only regret is we forgot our Go Pro memory card that day so we have no photos to share. But some amazing memories!

The Snorkeling locations are very similar to the diving locations. You cannot go snorkeling in most of the main beaches in Bali as the current and waves are so strong.  Not that we found, if you know of any good snorkeling in Bali, or looking for a fun one week itinerary  make sure to comment below.
