Startup Grind Bali hosts Nadine Shemilt and Fraser Paterson, Powered by Google for Entreprenuers

Roger Hamilton, founder of Wealth Dynamics, interviewed us at Startup Grind Bali last week on November 23, 2016.  Hosted back at the Genuis Entrepreneur Cafe in Bali, we were back for Round II. What is Startup Grind? Powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, Startup Grind is a startup community in over 200 cities with over 400,000 members. The principles of the Startup Grind are powerful.  They are: make friends, not contacts; giving not taking; help others before helping yourself.  Great fun to meet Entrepreneurs living and working in Bali and to share our story and drop some information bombs.  It was a great Entrepreneur mashup.
“The cornerstone of our global community are monthly events featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors who share lessons learned on the road to building great companies.” – Startup Grind

WHAT WERE MY TOP 3 TAKE AWAY’S?

The Wealth Dynamics program that Roger Hamilton created features a powerful profile testing system for Entrepreneurs that tests “what type of Entrepreneur” you are.  I knew exactly what the result would be prior to taking the test because we realize the importance of understanding your strengths.  Therefore, I am a “Lord” and Fraser is the “Creator”.  Lord is the analytical thinker and opposite, creator is the outgoing inspiration. Consequently this is exactly how the dynamics of our business relationship go.  An attendee explained that working in a business with 2 Lord’s presented challenges and asked how we worked with our personality combinations. We can’t all pretend to be awesome at everything which is why (for us atleast) having 2 personality types creates a synchronicity.
Get Shit Done!  Loved the immediate excitement from fellow Entrepreneurs about my life’s slogan.

Finally, how do you balance hustle and focus being a digital nomad?  This can be hard.  It can be so tempting not to frolic on the beach or explore the next city all day long. But if you are just as passionate about your work as you are about life, some how it’s not that hard.  However, tools like Rescuetime for productivity and Teamworks for organization and goal planning are key.

This is the second time that we have been in Bali speaking. Check out our first time here: Genuis Cafe hosts Fraser and Nadine.  While we were in Bali, we also spent 3 days being Mentors at the iLabs training program, what a pleasure to work in a small group with 8 Entrepreneurs.
